1. Download the e-Commerce website App

Most of these top e-Commerce companies do have their mobile apps and the surest way to get updates about the latest deals on their products is having the app downloaded on your mobile device. One very reliable and seamless eShop app is the Jumia app. And I say this because I use it very often and haven’t had any reason to stop using the app.

2. Know the Best Days to Shop

When shopping online, it’s always best to know what you want, when and where you can get the best deals. Well depending on the item you are buying, there are different days to get the best deals. For instance, findings from two blogs  revealed Mondays as the best day to shop online for electronics items like Computers, Video games, Cameras and TV’s. Other studies have identified Tuesdays and Thursdays as the best days in the week to shop online, while Sunday is usually the day to avoid shopping. Also, November the month of the popular Black-Friday is when almost all online companies offer very huge discounts on all products, followed by January which comes immediately after the major holiday season. Again, if you are looking for good sales, avoid shopping in the month of March at all cost, and these days apply to many online shopping sites.

3. Stalk the Brands You Want to Buy From

If there is a particular brand you want to buy from, you can target them by following them on social media. That way, you will be up to date on any discount offers, and also, you will be able to keep track of any last minute sales. Just make sure you are following their verified social media handles so that you don’t fall click baits.

4. Clear Your Cache Before Shopping

Online stores often price their products based on your search history. So if you want to get the best deals online, always clear your cache before shopping. You can also decide to use another browser to disguise.

5. Make Use of the Model’s Statistics in The Product Description

When shopping for items like shoes and clothes online, it can be tricky. You need to make sure that what you are ordering or selecting is the right fit for you. So you have to look up the statistics of what the model is wearing to give you a good idea of the size you are looking at and to know the right size for you. Also look at the size guides provided to know what size suits you best. As you know, different countries have different ways of calculating sizes. Most of the clothing stores incorporate this feature to help customers find the right size.

6. Leave Items in Your Shopping Cart to Get Them at Discounted Prices

Although, this is not a 100% guaranty, but it’s always worth a try. The times I tried leaving some selected items in my shopping cart without completing the purchase, I always receive emails offering those same products at discounted prices. This hack works with many online stores. These online stores usually have cookies that they use to track user’s activities. So, sometimes when you fill up your shopping cart, just leave them in there without completing the purchase and expect to receive an email with a personalized discount or coupon as an incentive. Although, for this to work, you must have a registered account with an active email account.

7. Read the Reviews and Comments about the Product

There are some specific items that come with huge risk when buying them online, most especially when buying from a new online store. So, the easiest way to know more about the product is by reading the reviews and comments just below the product description. That way, you know how good or bad the product is and what other things to expect.

8. Follow Influencers and Bloggers for Codes and Discounts

Many of these online shops rely on influencers and bloggers to push their brands and bring customers to them. These influencers do not only give reviews about the products, they also have “discount codes and coupons” that you won’t find anywhere else, even on the company websites. They also do regular giveaways and organize contests to give out discount vouchers.
